Join us EVERY WEEK, rain or
shine, for climbing all around the Tucson area! Don't have
gear? Don't worry, we'll make sure you have enough to climb with us.
You can also become an official member to help support our organization,
allowing us to maintain the website & begin printing the club T-shirts!
Official member or not, you're welcome to climb the Tucson Wall Crawlers any
time!
Wall Crawler Wednesdays is Back in Business!!
Due to the "complexity" of our lives, we have been forced come up with
a simple method of maintaining our Wednesday tradition!
It's easy, we now have 2 default locations: Soldier Canyon at
Hairpin Turn & Gates Pass. We will be alternating locations
every other week, indefinitely. Beginning Feb. 21st we will be at
Gates Pass, then Soldier Canyon the following week, and so on...
This doesn't mean we won't go anywhere else, it just means that unless
you haven't heard anything else, that's where we will be. Our
meeting time will be about 8am... or just go look for the group... and we
will be climbing 'till noon at least, and later for any who want to hang
around longer.
Gates Pass is convenient and fun, and we tend to wander on to
"non-traditional" boulders... meaning we're always looking for something
new, not just the common boulder piles. Park at the West parking lot
on the South side of the road, Hike East toward the boulders and listen
for voices.
Soldier Canyon is a "diamond in the rough" - straight out of
"Arizona Highways" if you're willing to hike a bit. Endless
bouldering, awesome wash travel, sport and traditional routes, and plenty
of good old fun. It's the first pull out on Mt. Lemmon Highway, so
it is convenient for everyone. It will give us our fill and keep the
TWC group going strong! Just head up the wash, take the bend around
Right-Hand Wall, and listen for voices. It will probably be us! |

A few Mt. Lemmon areas to consider that we haven't visited as a TWC
group yet: Druid Rock, Kessler's Corner & The Twinkie, Garlic Onilom,
Friction Rock, Middle Earth, The Bone Yard, Green Slabs, Wheeler Wall,
Barnum Rock/Gumby Wall, and Sky Valley... and others.
Also, catch up on our
past quotes
Since July 2002!
We'll see you on the ROCK! |
